The mode
adopted for the preparation of thangkas in Tara Arts is very much
preservative. To conserve the old methods of thangka painting,
modern techniques and instruments are avoided. Even the colors
used are natural and made of mud and stone ingredients. These
stones are especially ordered from Tibet and Ladakh and costs
around Rs.1500/- per 10 grams. The stones have medicinal values
in treating bone fractures and other related diseases. Some
other colors are obtained from resins of woods, eg. “Pin”. Tara
arts also undertakes the task of gold painting of statues and
other relics. |
